small task with komodo perl

I'm trying to herd a hundred meassages from usenet with the same title into
a local directory as files. There is a fair amount of literature out there
on how to do this, including aub, which is an abbreviation that shows how it
will not suit my purposes, as the 'b' stands for binaries, and I'm just
after good old text.

I do have a cygwin installation with which I am ham-handed. My machine does
not have an association with either .cgi or .pl, even after installation of
Komodo 4.0.3. This is what I've got, but I do not yet have "Hello World."
