programming seriell port unter windows ?

Hi

I will write a realy small programm to sent and receive a file over the
seriel port.

Long time ago I wrote this program on my Atari ST there it was realy easy.

There was system calls to

sent byte
get byte
check it byte is in buffer
setup com port

----

On a PC seems everythink to be different.

I search only a small libary with basic commands to build up a c++ program
for windows oder dos.

If you have some tips I would realy be happy.
