Perhaps it says that industry's expectation that graduates hit the groundWhere I come from it is most usual that students start working full
running in a field that has changed every month of the 4 years during
which they're simultaneously studying 1 or 2 other fields, is unrealistic?
time at 3rd year (having 3 more years to go for Engineer degree).
By the time they are doing the management courses (on 5 and 6th year)
most of them have 1 or 2 years of industry experience.
I find this model exausting, but as students are on their final years
they are already professionals in every way and can take the most from
their profesors who treat them as equals. On the other hand on most of
the cases it takes 1 or 2 years longer to get the degree (it took me
9, been working por 6).
Most of the local industry treats as equals to graduates, students and
drop offs, even MBAs. It's your experience and reputation that counts.
Some foreign companys give the degree more importance.
