Check out MiniBasic.
It will run anywhere a conforming C program can be executed (the intepreter is in ANSI C), so it is as widely implemeted as C. However, except for rounding differences caused by floating point hardware, results are exactly the same on all platforms.
So it is more portable than ANSI C. And it is far more wonderful and flexible because the interpreter is simple enough for you to extend it with a few hours of programming effort.
