fact generated interesting discussion without that thread being
vandalized

This is a common claim of the childish bully. Get this, pal. People
who think in terms of "supporters" and "bullies" have long turned
these newsgroups into gladatorial contests as opposed to discussion
forums because entirely too many people who enter here have been
brutalized by the objective conditions of their miserable lives.
