Re: Programming to Beat the Odds in Gaming

I'll assume you bet only on Red.

Oh. You must be using the ordinary Martingale,
in which your bet sequence (waiting for Red) is
1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, ..., x, 2x, ...
this wins $1 for every red, but as you say, wins nothing on Black.

If you want a guarantee that you win even when Black comes up
simply adopt the bet sequence
1, 3, 7, 15, 31, 63, ..., x, 2x+1, ...
Check and you will see that, assuming only that you quit after
some Red, that you will win N dollars after N spins regardless
of how many were Red and how many Black.

If you're unlucky, and expect Black to come up more often
when you bet on Red, you can do even better!
1, 4, 10, 22, 46, 94, ..., x, 2x+2, ...
Now you win $1 for each Red (the color of your bet)
and $2 for each Black (the color you're betting against!).
Assuming only that you make the bets implied, and quit
immediately after some Red.

I've made so many millions over the years with this system,
that casinos won't let me play anymore. I give it you,
Rickey, asking only that either (a) you give me 1% of
your first million dollars of winnings, or (b) you send me
$5 in advance with no further obligation.

When you write that you have made millions over the years with your system,
I cannot tell just how flippant you are being.

How much seed money did you start off with? How deep were your Martingale
tiers? In your above examples, why are you starting off with single dollar
bets when you know most roulette tables restrict to $10 minimum bets?

Take a look at my sample programs at:

If you have any serious recommendations of how they might be improved, then
we can talk more.
