Ah!  Given that all the answers are wrong, we need to find the least

I once answered an exam question with "The question you meant to ask

I really don't understand the American Education System. San Francisco
State University, a school that will pretty much accept anyone with a
pulse, rejects me. But UC Berkeley, which is one of the hardest
schools to get into, offers me conditional admissions.

It's because you have a national education entity - and
the /optimistic/ viewpoint is that the bevaviour of the
US government is completely random.

I suspect more sinister motives, but I also don't live
there, so it doesn't keep me up at night.

Back to the topic of "least wrong" multiple choices,
a sibling of mine just came home with a mathematics
contest in which one question is (out of context):

...the length of segment QN is closest to

and it gives you five answers to two decimal places,
even though the real answer has rt(2) as a multiple.
Apparently this is the branch of geometry involving
rules.

And a few questions up, there is a strange question
about a travelling salesman in which he "wants" to
visit all vertices on the given graph. The question
is then how many ways he "can" travel from A to F.

Clearly his desires are irrelevant to the number of
paths that exist, but my mother disagrees with that
statement.

Apparently I'm just too mathematically inclined for
this mathematics challenge.

That's what we teach kids here in Canada.
