Algorithms/Combinatorial optimization PhD Position at the Department of Informatics,University of Bergen, Norway.
We are looking for an excellent PhD candidate with a background in Algorithms or Combinatorial optimization. The candidate must hold a M.Sc. degree or similar.
The position is available at the Department of Informatics, University of Bergen, Norway and is financially supported by the Research Council of Norway (NFR) project `Spectrum Management in Static and dynamic networks'. The project aims at investigating problems where graph coloring is used in the context of frequency assignment. For more information see http://www.ii.uib.no/spectrum
The candidate is expected to work within this projects and thus obtain a PhD degree. The position is for 3 years with a preferred starting date of August 2004. Salary is roughly 355,000 NOK per year (before tax). There are no teaching duties. Knowledge of the Norwegian language is not necessary.
