  Your opinion of Raatikainen, valuable and interesting as it might
be, is not really at issue. More to the point would be an elaboration
of the "direct dependence" that you find between the complexity of
a formal system and its power to prove theorems.

  You might wish to take into account that the AMS reviewer of
Raatikainen's 1998 paper "On interpreting Chaitin's
incompleteness thoerem", Cristian Calude, does not share your opinion.
