POSITION(S) IN ALGORITHMS AT ITU COPENHAGEN
The Algorithms and Complexity Group at IT University of Copenhagen
is looking for one or two assistant or associate professors. The
positions will start as early as possible in 2005 and last for one
or two years.
The position includes both research and teaching obligation.
40% (assistant prof.) or 50% (associate prof.) of the time should
be spent on teaching, which typically means teaching two courses a
year (3 hours of lecture + 2 hours of exercises, for 12 weeks) plus
some supervision of student projects. The rest of the time should
be devoted to research of your own choice.
The algorithms group at ITU consists of two associate professors
(on leave until late 2006), two assistant professors, Rasmus Pagh
and Anna Östlin Pagh, and three PhD students. The groups' research
interests are e.g. data structures, randomized algorithms,
algorithms on trees, and approximation algorithms, with applications
to databases, bioinformatics, and image analysis.
The IT University of Copenhagen (ITU) was established in 1999. It is
funded to undertake both theoretical research and applied research
into the interaction and growing importance of information technology
to society.
