Sleepycat Software is pleased to announce:
Berkeley DB Java Edition 1.5.0
http://www.sleepycat.com/products/je.shtml
What is Berkeley DB Java Edition?
Berkeley DB Java Edition is a general database storage solution for
all Java applications. JE provides fully ACID transactional access to
terabytes of data while operating within a resource budget within a
JVM. By employing a write-once, log-only architecture JE provides
record level locking and high levels of concurrency with deadlock
detection and resolution. In this way, JE is an enterprise quality
pure Java data storage solution suitable for use as the storage manager
for any and all Java standards implementations. Vendors building JDO,
EJB CMP, JMS, LDAP/JNDI, JavaCache, Jini JavaSpace or other storage
related Java standards should consider using JE as the core storage
engine. Application designers in need of a pure Java storage solution
should also consider using JE for storage rather than writing and
supporting an in house solution. JE itself provides access to the data
stored via two APIs, one of which is the de-facto standard Java
Collections API. Java Collections have been incorporated in every J2SE
and J2EE distribution since Java 1.2. Berkeley DB Java Edition allows
developers to employ the classes defined by that API to manage data in
a transactional manner to disk whereas before they were only available
for use in memory. Application designers need not learn a new API for
data representation.
If your application stores data for any purpose your choice is clear,
Berkeley DB Java Edition is the best solution for your product.
