    Hello there,

I have a quick question that I am hoping someone can answer! Basically,
I am working with Tomcat server. I am also using JDBC to connect to an
    Oracle database (Oracle 10i).

The situation kinda looks like this:

TOMCAT --- Use JDBC ---> ORACLE Server
    Machine Machine

thing is (as a hypothetical) Tomcat machine is located in California
while the Oracle server is located in Florida.

Is this possible? Is it feasable? Is it a bad idea? Is there another
way to make this happen (safely) so that when connections are
established (and data passed back and forth) all will be OK?

Any help, hints or advice is greatly appreciated ;-)

    Kindest Regards.
