cannot load jdbc driver.

I am using iBatis 2.0.9 O/R mapper for my application. The database I am using was upgraded from MySql 4.0 to mySql 4.1. I have put the MySql connector 3.1.6 driver for that.
But, the application is not able to recognize the driver and says cannot load the jdbc driver.
Please help.
