what are the java codes for Oracle database Date?

I tried to input a date value in a table in
oracle database.I found
I must type the format in '15-1? -05',then if I
use java.sql.Date class,for
example,aPrepareStatement.setDate(aSqlDate),coul
d it work?
if not ,how can i do?
