Here's the final piece of the puzzle:
"It's a build error. We'll release 3.1.9 sometime in the next two weeks
(some bugfixes need to go in) that should fix it. If you throw the
'aspectjrt.jar' file that's in 'lib' into your classpath the problem goes
away.
