Hi,

I remember always needing something like Rmijdbc.jar to provide the
odbc driver (this is under windows). But I now notice that this is no
longer necessary. Has generic support been added in recent versions? I
upgrade my JDK all the time to the newest version, so I'm wondering if
I just didn't notice the change.

Thank you,

Support for which database?

Even prior to 1.5, no external jar file was actually *required* on
Windows to use Access, though some commercial products were available
that provided better performance. The built-in ODBC-JDBC bridge would
work well enough for many uses, though. There are databases that did
require external software. I've used one for MySQL on Windows, Linux
and Mac OS X.
