(I used an empty username and password since the demo did not say

Yes the link is wrong; the right one is www.websql.eu.

Regarding the error you got it depends on a problem relating how hosting.java manage access to the file. We are trying to solve it as soon as we can, and we hope it will be soon. We are searching for another hosting-website to unsure a good service to anyone is interested in WebSQL.
