good book for designing framworks?

    Hi folks,

    I'm looking for a good book describing some general aspects when
    designing frameworks. I got to write my diploma thesis within the next
    months and would like to get a good overview on a more abstract level
    _not_ directly focussing on a certain implementation (e.g. spring,
    struts, ...).
    It would be great if it was language independent but OO-related.
