As formatted by Google? Please don't take that as any guide.

Google (specifically groups beta) has done some things to 'make
posts look good' to its users but these same changes often lead
to problems for other readers of this UseNet newsgroup (you do
realise you are not 'posting to google' - right?).

I suspect Google is showing your post back to you with tabs
replaced with 3 or 4 spaces, yet in a news reader client (like
Outlook Express or Gravity) those tabs are often expanded to
8 or more characters.

No! Please be clear that there are no rules around here*,
and most people are the happier for it. The only thing is
that if you act towards others in the group in a way that
works for them, they are more likely to help you.

* Though there can be consequences. A particularly offensive
post might result in a complaint to the poster's ISP such that
they might be cut off, or other members of the group might choose
to publicly ridicule, or harangue (argue with) a person who they
see as doing something wrong.
