I wonder if we have a cultural problem.
Perhaps in some cultures pleas of urgency are taken as "take pity on
this poor wretch who will be beaten if he does not come up with an
answer soon." rather than a demand on others to drop what they are
doing to serve his majesty.
There is one phrase that really grates on my nerve endings, "You are
to ..." It conjures up some fat conceited queen giving orders to those
she has great contempt for.
The phrase is like saying "Your purpose for existence is to serve me
by doing the following..."
I suspect part of the problem may be some of the people here come from
wealthy families with servants, and they have not quite caught on the
people in the newsgroups are not a species of domestic servant.
