Javas 'Wings' : Swing?

Short question:

Can I use Javas 'Metal Style' also in AWT?

As I've understood it, it's only when I use Swing, that I have this special
Java-style. Why isn't it in AWT too? -Maybe it's just because that Swing is
newer than AWT?

Rgds,
Pete C
