My guess is that I misconstrue. I don't see the problem with reading the manual. I do it all the time. I reread Javadocs I've read before. There's no harm in it. I RTFM a lot.
My guess is that the problem is the F not the R, the T or the M.
Whilst many of us can cope with a bit of blunt Anglo-Saxon, and a few have persuaded themselves that F stands for friendly, obviously there are some (probably many) who feel the F conveys an excessively hostile or aggressive tone.
Just my ¤0.02 worth.
