I realize that there are actually very few study materials that covers 5.0, so i am willing to study for 1.4, and top it up with further readings on 5.0 language additions. What i am looking for is good study material that targets the certification exam (be it 1.4 or 5.0).
Just a little more info on myself, i have been using Java for the past 5 years, more intensively in the past 1-2 years. But, i have no idea what kind of questions to expect for the exam.
It's a mix of API and trick questions. I suggest memorising the API of the bits mentioned in the syllabus and reading through the Java Language Spec. Then just make sure you read the questions thoroughly.
From doing the five hour beta, I also strongly recommend making sure that you really wont need the little boys/girls room, and picking an exam centre where there wont be light industrial marine machining going on directly above your head.
