Force WebStart to load new JNLP-File from Server

Hello Gurus
We have a WebStart app that has already been deployed to a number of
people who have generated shortcuts to the app on their desktops.
Now the JNLP file has changed to include an additional jar.
On XP, webstart seems to load the OLD JNLP file every time when called
through the desktop shortcut.
How can I force WebStart to load the current JNLP file from the server
and thus include the new jar?
If I start the appliccation from the JNLP file on the server (through
calling the JNLP file directly in the browser), it loads the new file -
but even after that WebStart does not load the additional jar when
called though the desktop shortcut (which makes me think it loads the
old cached JNLP file).
Thanks a lot for any clues!
