Hi All,
First let me give you a background of the project:
Our project is implemented using J2EE Framework with heavy use of JSP's
and servelets(Its a portal). Structs framework is used in the same.
It has Multilingual support
Problem:
There is a search feature on the site. Multilingual strings can be
searched on the same.
The application is built using ANT script.
When built on a solaris machine(SunOS 5.8) the search for the accented
characters (for eg - Übersicht ) does not work. (Works only if 'Ü'
is replaced with 'U'). But the same works if the ear is prepared on a
windows machine. (using same compiler (JDK) version and keeping all
other parameters/tools used the same)
Have no idea why is this happening ? Any pointers to the same are very
useful ...
The encoding used is UTF-8
Regards,
Parag
