native threads in 1.4 on linux

Hi Experts,
Could somneone pls tell me how to enable native threads in JDK 1.4 on
Red Hat Linux. I heard that -hotspot would enable them, what about
-server ?.
BTW, someone said that Java does not have green threads starting 1.4 on
Linux, is this true?
