Just my $0.02 worth.I think that CRLF may have it's roots in the old manual typewriter days. I took a typing course in grade 10 and we used manual typewriters. The thing you hit on the right hand side of the machine to send the "cursor" back to the start of the next line basically shot the "cursor" back to the beginning of the current line and then you pushed a lever and the paper moved up over the roller. Hence... Carriage Return... Line Feed
