Netbeans 5.5 startup Errors

Please forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong group. I have
searched for a solution to the following, without any luck. Most of
the documentation skips ahead to the part where Netbeans is working
correctly.
On a Dell Windows XP box when starting Netbeans during the "Reading
module storage" I get the following errors (truncated)
Warning - could not install some modules:
XML Tools API - No module providing the capability
org.openide.modules.ModuleFormat1 could be found.
XML Tools API - The module named org.openide.filesystems was needed
and not found.
XML Tools API - The module named org.openide.util was needed and not
found.
External HTML Browser - No module providing the capability
org.openide.modules.ModuleFormat1 could be found.
External HTML Browser - The module named org.openide.filesystems was
needed and not found.
External HTML Browser - The module named org.openide.util was needed
and not found.
The same 3 org.openide modules are repeated over and over. When I
click "disable and continue" Netbeans just hangs... Re-installed and
still happens.
Now what?
