Tomcat ports for web services

hi there:

i m trying to build a very simple web service and it s all fine,
except i cant start the server, i get an error regarding the ports
used by Tomcat 8005 8080 and 8009, so i went to <tomcat instal>/conf/
server.xml
however I still get the same errors.
then i searched for all existing server.xml files, found one in the
eclipse folder
changed it and now I get an error saying that the files dont match,
even thou
they are copies (as in copy an paste)
Any ideas?
