Am not quite sure, according to their documentation the "Shredder" will
overwrite files with random bits 3 times according to US Department of
Defense regulation DoD 5220.22-M. So why would that not count as "wiping" ?
no. That's "shredding". Wiping is clearing the unused space.
Further, I want it left at 0 or at least some constant value so that
an image backup will compress all unused areas efficiently if it is
not smart enough to avoid backing them up.
I've got Ace wiping my machines to 0 in one pass. I am not trying to
foil the CIA, just make backups efficient.
