Thanks for the reply. I followed all of your suggestions to no avail.
I finally solved the problem by adding the following:
c:\program files\java\jre1.6.0_04\bin
to the end of the PATH variable in Environment Variables.
My Platform:
HP Pavilion 713c (Pentium 4 @3.06GHz, 1GB DDR SDRAM, 250GB Hard Drive)
HP DVD Writer 200j
Samsung DVD-ROM SD-616F
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254(Service Pack 2)
Norton Personal Firewall 2006
Norton AntiVirus 2007
Mozilla Firefox Version 2.0.0.11
Mozilla Thunderbird Version 2.0.0.9(20071031)
Java Version 1.6.0_04
Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC
