the reason is much the same people join a club. If you are a member,
you have friends who will send you business, who will support you. To
the insider Islam is warm and cozy. To the outsider, it is harsh and
forbidding.
Further, though it has its nuttinesses (the belief in djinn for
example) it is nowhere near as goofy is Christianity.
