JCreator too slow

Hello to everyone,
i'm new to Java and i'm learning the language.
i'm testing some java applets (i use awt). I use JCREATOR PRO
More specifically i'm testing the awt methods:
drawLine,fillOval,fillArc etc.
The complilation is relatively fast.
However when i 'm trying to run the applets the process is too slow

Any help would be appreciated
