without bright people going into computer science and engineering programs
there are no innovative computer scientists or engineers. they become
innovative doctors, business people, lawyers, assholes, etc.
for example, you probably use java. this is a technological innovation that
was developed by a team of computer scientists.
all professions (directly or inversely) affected by technology could suffer
without innovation (especially american innovation).
