servlet refresh form

Hi all,
I have a table, with all column headers in place. headers are
checkboxes and serve as inputs. In the beginning, all the cells are
empty. When I push submit button, the script goes to fetch data from
the database. Now I want the result data to go to the cells of the
table, and got stuck in here, the cells remain empty. I could put the
result in another table but not the first one. I guess I need
something like to refresh the form
Can anyone help me?
