Checking Print Job size in Java Printing API

I am using Java Printing API and want to send to different printers
according to print job size. The JobKOctets attribute seems to be doing
this. However, my print service does not support it. Therefore, I am
trying to check the print job size myself.

StreamPrintService seems to be a good candidate. But it seems to output
to Postscript only, which is not an option because my printer does not
support it. Any one know whether there are any other output format? It
would be great if there is a format that has a matching DocFlavor which
IS USABLE.

The Destination attribute also looks good. But the doc say that it is
most likely not supported. Therefore, it also seems unusable. BTW, even
if I can save the print data to a file, will I be able to read it back
to really send the data to the printer? If so, how? (Use
DocFlavor.SERVICE_FORMATTED?)

Thanks

.
