Bookmark DTD or schemas

I want to add more functionality to a bookmark manager program I developed. Naturally it is in Java. To do what I want, translate\transform different bookmark files, I need to have the DTD(s) or schema(s) for the respective bookmark files. Rather from starting from scratch does any body know where I could find these items or if they exist? Or any direction?

Or would using the python developed 'XML Bookmark Exchange Language (XBEL)' be the way to go If I have to start from scratch?
