I know this is going to sound like I question your competence at
something, but in fact I don't: You might consider whether your
ability to correctly detect insults is infallible. You have clearly
taken things as insults in the past that the person saying did not
intend as insults, according to themselves, and that a significant
number of people responding didn't see as an insult either, according
to their responses.
I.e., when you think "this is an insult to me", you might want to
add "but I could be wrong". Because you could. Anybody could. And
quite often they are, because a text medium makes things sound
harsher than spoken words.
Combined with your willingness to respond "in kind", with direct and
explicit insults and name callings (which does not give mot people a
better opinion of you, even if you think name calling is justified),
you can be setting yourself in a position where you did in fact throw
the first insult.
You can be wrong in detecting insults. This is not questioning your
competence ... nobody is infallable! Returning insults without
validating that you were in fact insulted first will inevitably lead
to insulting someone who doesn't consider themselves to have insulted
you first.
