Not my problem.

Your proposed method of navigating documents seems awkward. I would
advise against it.

I'm not proposing it; I'm describing what's necessary to effectively
navigate the way you claim you do. Yes, I agree that it's awkward;
"awkward" has been one of my primary criticisms of emacs (and vi) all
along, remember?

You can place bookmarks if you want. I don't use them much but they
can be handy at times I suppose. C-x r m to place one and C-x r b to
jump to an existing one.

Why am I not surprised that there are additional obscure keybindings
specifically to semi-automate doing this? :P

Word and its like are in widespread use mostly because people like to
waste enormous amounts of time fiddling around with fonts and font
sizes, and end up with a complete mess because they don't know the
first thing about proper typesetting.

Doubtful. Furnish genuine evidence that this is peoples' primary
purpose in purchasing Word, or go away.

Of course you wouldn't.

Your arrogant assumption that your preferences should be everybody's
preferences will someday get someone really, REALLY mad at you. Just
warning you.

One more thing you get to avoid by learning proper typing styles.

I avoid it just fine. Keeping the hands still and stretching the
fingers into unnatural positions to try to reach every key seems a
more likely source of RSIs to me than typing comfortably.

[implied insult deleted]

None of the nasty things that you have said or implied about me are at
all true.
