Seriously, if you are going to make jokes in your posts, you should

God, suddenly everybody gets to set the rules for the Internet.
If you seriously think the above is an attempt to "set the rules,"
you need to grow a sense of humor.

Seriously, if you're going to be namby-pamby about having every
little joke explained to you, ESPECIALLY in a thread that is
nothing but invitations for jokes in the first place, then you
need to get a life.
Pot, kettle...

You are wrong.

The guy did say he was being serious. ("Seriously, ...") I guess
my powers of mind reading are weaker than yours.

I point out that Jussi is not the only poster to whine about lack of
humor warnings. If the other poster hadn't been so all-fired
serious then I might have been more skeptical of Jussi.

I think Jussi was not joking. Jussi?

I'm laughing so hard I got tears in my eyes. Should I have used a
smiley? But don't worry: I didn't _really_ lose a keyboard, though I
did have a cup of coffee at hand.

To get back on topic in c.l.j.p, I've been thinking about the use of
foot pedals, which you mentioned, as extra meta keys for Emacs. Then
we would have to crosspost to four other programming language groups,
if I've understood the rules of those threads correctly. On the other
hand, to be on-topic in an off-topic thread would be off-topic for the
thread, and, er, never mind: the rules _are_ confusing.
