Granted, I can't compare to NetBeans. But the other Mac alternative, Xcode, is no speed-demon to start up either, nor is Microsoft's Visual Studio on Windows. Big applications just take a long time to start, some longer than others, but they all make me wait. :)
But that just mean that one keeps it open all day.
Or for weeks at a time. :)
