I'm facing a dead end here. I got to deliver a report for the
university really soon. I'm done with the programming part, a stand
alone java application connected with a db but i need to produce
report from that database through the application and print them. I've
searched for reporting tools but seems to be too expensive for my
pocket.
I'd like to ask if there is a freeware reporting tool for java. I'm
developing in JBuilder X (academic use).

It's fairly easy programming to et Access to calculate the height of each section: subtract double the margin + a spacer for each detail less one from the page height. ... We have _lots_ of reports which will need to use one of three variations on the footer event procedure ... I would prefer to be able to have a function or macro for each section count variation once in the database,, instead of once for each report.... Print a page with 3 evenly spaced mailing slips...
