Newbie Eclipse questions

I'm trying to settle on one editor for all of my programming / text
manipulation tasks, but I'm not sure if Eclipse fits the bill. (I'm very
much a newbie.)

Can Eclipse handle text manipulation?

Can Eclipse have split windows?

Does it support code folding?

If so, are there plug-ins that I need?
