Eclipse and Ant

Hello all!

I was looking into trying out the Eclipse IDE.

1. How does Eclipse handle builds? Does it have its own dependency checking algorithms for determining which Java files need to be recompiled?

2. Can Eclipse use Ant for that matter? I want to use Javamake, a free "plugin" JAR for Ant which is said to have the best dependency checking around.

3. Do I have to manage a build.xml file when using Ant? Can I customize it?

Thanks for your help!

Karsten
