I do see where the newer Eclipse 3.2 load takes a little more time but has a lot of newer options. Anyway, Make sure you have auto update off. When it starts to slow down look at the bottom right hand conner and see it it is building your work space. I suspect that it is. If so you can control this by options in the preferences.
