without an error message or something like that, one cannot really know, what went wrong.

What is written in your console and logfiles?

i know, that this was working for me with Tomcat 4 and Eclipse 3.01. But i am not sure for 3.1

What you could also do (this is what we do) is to run ant and deploy your webapp with ant (or maven).

then you have more control about the deployment and can be really sure, that after a clean and redeploy all your classes are really the current ones
