IzPack: Good for me ?

Hi,
I need an advice in order to know if i can use or not Izpack to deploy my System.
My System is composed of different packs. Each pack has a specific version.

My principal need is to check before the deployment of the system the already installed versions of each packs.
After this information, a box can ask the user if he want to install anyway or not...

Can you tell me if it is possible ? Did you have examples ?
I didn't found such panels it in the documentation.

Thanks a lot.
