I think the refactoring support in NetBeans is on a par with that in Eclipse. I also find NetBeans equivalently stable.

While Eclipse has "more plugins available", NetBeans has more functionality built into the core product, so extra plugins aren't as necessary. I'd say that one tilts toward NetBeans.

I discern no speed difference between the two. On what are you basing the claim that Eclipse has "more speed"? What metric of speed?

I find the UI for NetBeans much easier for me to use, and deployment of Web and Enterprise projects is much smoother in NetBeans. NetBeans's options are much easier for me to configure, especially in the area of mounting databases and application servers.

For the record, I use both Eclipse (and its IBM productized version, WSAD) and NetBeans extensively, and have for years.
