Too to speed up directory intensive apps
I posted a little utility called TouchDirs part of FileTimes. see
http://mindprod.com/jgloss/products1.html#FILETIMES
In Windows it sets the last-access date of all directories to now.
This effectively numbers them closely, and in ascending natural tree
order.
When you subsequently defrag with O&O defrag using the Access/complete
option it orders files and directories by time of last access, putting
all the directories in the middle of the disk contiguously.
This means any sort of app that has to scan all the directories on the
disk will run faster since the disk arms barely have to move and the
directories are near the most frequently used files.
