How big of a difference is going to make or break you? I asked this
question of the head computer science guru at a place I used to work a
bit ago. He said that Java is an interpreted language and therefore a
little slower and less apt to be used in software where clock speeds
and critical timing are important.

I am not saying Java is not useful or good... I am learning it now and
love it. More than I liked C++ 6.0 when I learned it.

But I am a strong beleiver in the statement made earlier that the
difference is in mindset and not in features. I also think there is a
proper tool for every job... so dont look for just one solution to
every problem in existance.
